Fr. Bernie

Fr. Bernie
Bernie writing at his desk at home in Ireland.

Fr. Bernie embodied the innate ability to combine joy with introspection in life, while acknowledging the challenges of our human journey.

He was born in Ireland and became a Catholic priest. After being called to serve in the United States, he met Marcia, who embraced his unique gifts as a thinker, writer, and counselor. He left the Catholic Church in the 1970s and became an Episcopalian priest to marry her. Together they became a powerful force for good in the lives of countless people.

Below you will find a recording of Bernie's Easter sermon that is inspiring the book I am working to create. Though inherently Christian, it speaks to the nature of life as a series of movements through darkness and into light.
